Product Description:
He is a prince and heir to a kingdom threatened on all sides, possessor of the forbidden animal magic.
She is a princess from a rival kingdom, the daughter her father never wanted, isolated from all except her hound.
In this lush and beautifully written fairy-tale romance, a prince, a princess, and two kingdoms are joined in the aftermath of a war. Proud, stubborn, and bound to marry for duty, George and Beatrice will steal your heart—but will they fall in love?

Review in 75 words or less: Unique premise with fairy-tale like plot. Rather slow beginning filled with awkward transitions. The plot held much promise, but sometimes it felt like there was too much character growth that added little to the overall plot. Plenty of memorable characters who added much to the novel with their depth and emotion. Enjoyed that the novel has the ability to expand into other novels which will further flesh out this interesting world that Harrison has created.

I have read every book the Harrison has written(so far) and I must say, The Princess and the Hound and it's sequal The Princess and the Bear are her best books so far. I love how this book is the the prince's point of view and not the princesses.
I love how the charicters solve problems diplomaticly. I love how the romance is not overdone. I love how this book has no sex or cussing and I wouldn't freak out if my little sis got a hold of it. I could go on and on with what I love about this book. ... Read More

This one is another retelling of Beauty and the Beast but instead of the typical man/woman charming the other lead until they become a better person and turn into a beautiful person, the woman is the beast this time. And what's more, it's told from the pov of the male, Prince George.
If you look at this story and compare it other retellings it doesn't seem to have much connection to the basic plot of Beauty and the Beast other than the person they fall in love with is a beast (or in this ... Read More

This entire book felt as if it was building and building toward a fantastic climax....and then never went anywhere. I was rather disappointed.
The characters were certainly interesting, and I loved the development of the relationships, especially those of the kings (George and Beatrice's fathers) and their children. I believe that was one of the few aspects of the ending that I liked, the development of those relationships, as well as George's personal growth into his position and responsibilities ... Read More
