Editorial Review:

Product Description:
This mesmerizing exploration of the most subtle, elusive, and effective form of power is a masterful analysis of civilization's greatest seducers, from Cleopatra to JFK, as well as the classic literature of seduction from Freud to Kierkegaard and Ovid to Casanova. Robert Greene once again identifies the rules of a timeless, amoral game and explores how to cast a spell, break down resistance, and, ultimately, compel a target to surrender. Presenting the timeless profiles of each type of seducer and the twenty-four maneuvers that will guide you step by step in the game of seduction, The Art of Seduction is an indispensable primer of persuasion that reveals the timeless power of this age-old art.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The psychology behind seduction
This is a long book, it's small print, it's wordy... it's an amazing piece of non-fiction. This book basically breaks down the actual psychology and principles of seduction. I've read some other books on the topic, this has got to be one of the best. The only problem with this book is that, if you are an idiot, it's going to go over your head. This isn't a "HOW TO"-styled handbook.. it doesn't straight up tell you how to walk up and talk to a male or female. This book goes into historical accounts ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Abstract but profound
The book can either pique the interest of the meandering intellectual/historian or, quite contrarily, the man on the street looking to acquire the ever elusive edge. I fall under the latter.

If you are looking for immediate gain in your seductive prowess, you will initially find much of the information in the text gratuitous. However, you should notice a few sections that really strike a chord with you. I encourage you to reread these passages as they will yield both understanding of your ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Dangerous in the wrong hands but Useful in the right ones
This is an interesting book. However it's one of those books one has to be careful with, in the wrong hands this is almost a psychological manual for seduction, in the right ones its effective to understand human psychology. According to Greene, most human beings are essentialy capable of influencing others if they know how. The book is built on the fact that people are indeed bad, manipulative and decietful. However, if read with an open mind simply to see how this sort of psychology works, it is a splendid ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - I didn't really like it
It does explain some psychological tactics to make people like you, and desire more from you, but I didn't like it. I probably just suck at life, but I didn't really get anything from this book like I did from 48 Laws of Power. You may like it, this is just my opinion.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Word of Caution for the Chronically Emotionally Disfavored
I wanted to comment on the book, and I apologize to all concerned parties for being somewhat unfair, as I have not read the entire work.

Nevertheless, I need to warn on an important issue. Many people who have problems finding, sustaining and exercising their seduction power run into important psychological dilemmas. These are due to chronic loneliness, chronic fatigue, bitterness, and long-held anger, among other complicated factors.

My warning comes on these lines: If you have low ... Read More
