Molly has always had a crippling fear of the water. So in order to escape summer swim lessons and Jared, a boy who tossed her into a pool, she visits her father for a couple of months in Maine. She starts experiencing flash backs about a girl named Clementine, who died almost a century ago. This is poor summery but it fits the book- unremarkable and not the least bit mysterious. Read this one a few years earlier, still as amazing as ever. It's not my favorite of Kathryn Reiss's books, but they're all so ridiculously good! Mystery with every bit of suspenseful goodness, history, and a touch of romance and psychological thriller, all in one great book. Not sure how she does it, but she does.
