Editorial Review:

Product Description:
People say a lot of things about the Bible, God, Jesus, and Christianity that are simply not true. So in the style of the popular cable show Mythbusters, a New Testament scholar uses biblical and historical evidence---and humor---to do a little myth busting of his own.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - a gift to God's people
Busted
Thanks to Andrew Rogers of Zondervan for sending me this book to review. I had requested for Andrew to send me a book that he thought would be a good book for my readers. I think he chose quite well.
Busted deals with various myths about Christianity. Kamecke, as he writes, does not take the pains to document his sources. Neither does he write in a scholarly fashion. He writes for the common person who does not have the time to fight his way through difficult tomes to find ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - If you have questions, this book has the answers!
This is a great beginning apologetic! It's written to the common man with great sections at the end of each chapter for those who want to dig deeper. This is not your average, stuffy seminary apologetic! It's a clear and straightforward response to many questions raised by people who are seeking the truth and busts the myths many people in our culture believe as truth. Fred's personality permeates every page and is light and humorous, yet still retains that "let's not kid ourselves" honesty that ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Hit the Spot
This book wasn't my cup of tea, but it really hit the spot for my 18 year old. Here are some of her comments:

"This book is so awesome, I'm going to read the WHOLE THING!!!" (She's not used to liking the books I send her way.)

"These are all the issues people I know keep bringing up."

"His approach is right on - he approaches it like "if they are right, then this.. and this.. would have happened. But it didn't."" (I think we call this a historical/logical ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Exposed, but not Busted...
I have been reading the book, Busted: Exposing Popular Myths about Christianity, by Fred Von Kamecke for the past week or so. While the book lives up to its title by addressing (exposing) many of the more popular questions and arguments surrounding criticism of the Christian faith, I'm not sure that all the "myths" are definitively "busted." Don't get me wrong, I think the information and the evidence that is shared throughout the book is solid and I think it is logically and well presented; however, ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Entertaining and informative. Apologetics for the common man.
Did your grandmother ever caution you to wait an hour after dinner before swimming, so you wouldn't get cramps and drown? Have you ever had somebody suggest that you feed a cold and starve a fever? Do you remember the story about the friend of a friend who knew a kid, whose cousin.... Chances are you've received these and other random pearls of wisdom from your parents, grandparents, and friends. Every now and then there may be a bit of truth in one of these phrases, but they are for the most part ... Read More
