This is a refreshing, hot, action packed series that leaves you wanting more and more! I am Hooked!!

I bought the first three books in this series with high hopes. The first book was the best but even that one did not hook me in. So-so plotline, bad dialogue. Too bad because the premise was soooo promising! The third book, well, all I can say is, "UGH!"
I love romance. I love paranormal fiction. I love adult themed intimiate situations since I find it pretty difficult as an adult to imagine a really passionate, loving relationship not having a lot of really hot sex, especially ... Read More

I haven't read any of the other books in this series but was thankful when I started reading The Darkest Pleasure it wasn't necessary. Obviously each book is a story in it's own though still tying all characters together. Gena Showalter did a lovely job in writing this book, the characters have depth and heart. I don't care for heroines who are so tough they aren't even women anymore, or so bitchy and mean they can never take correction. Danica is lovely and written with some grace, Reyes... well ... I really don't know what to make of this series. I find myself interested in the plot of the stories but the writing and the characters keep throwing me off. I feel like I keep walking into the middle of a conversation that I've rudely interrupted instead of being the fly on the wall like most of the books I've read in the past. The stories just don't flow well and it gets tiring. The characters in the series are a bit annoying and repetitive. Some have distinct personalities and I can follow them without ... Read More

I was going to review these individually, but I thought I would go through all four in the series pretty quickly and do one big glowing review. That seemed to be true upon reading the first two books, but things slowed down for me reading book 3 (The Darkest Pleasure).
The series starts off well .... your typical tortured warrior who finds a women he seemingly can't have. All the books are based around a group of Lords, warriors who were once in good with the Gods. They did something they shouldn't ... Read More
