Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - thoughtful classic
hard to describe but I really liked this book in ways most don't, for all the hardship he went through I was able to relate to what author had written. A book I may read again.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Powerful story in its own way
A fairly powerful story about an American-Indian kid who doesn't quite fit in in either world, the author does a great job of describing the loneliness and despair of native Americans (you might compare it to a kid going to a new school and nobody liking him). The story is relatively slow moving, but this probably makes you think a bit more about the situation. Read it as a kid and re-read it just recently - liked it even better now.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A "classic" from Hal Borland!
I have been searching for this book ever since I read it a few years ago. It is an engrossing story - This is the kind of book that deals with the rodeo and a half-breed trying to find his place in either the Indian world or the white man's world, and his journey to get peace within himself.

I have not dealt with this vendor, but I am definitely endorsing this book!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - GREAT
This is one of my favorite books, I first read this about twenty years ago and have bought the book a few more times to give out to read, coming from a reservation, only people who have lived this way can understand the true feelings of this book. I can't wait to read again.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Garbage
The 1st FIVE Chapters were missing, the book started on page 265. I will never do business with this vendor again.
