Editorial Review:

Product Description:

When Travis and Rebecca marry, rumors quickly spread that he has done so only for her dying father’s ranch. Confused and convinced that Travis can never truly love her, Rebecca strikes out on her own. She disappears to make a new life for herself in a town far away, but her friends there are few, and life is hard.

When desperate circumstances drive Rebecca home to Travis, she can see the change in the man she left behind. In her absence, he has grown from a rough–hewn cowboy to a confident rancher.

Still, her wounded heart is hesitant. Is she more afraid to love—or to be loved?

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not One of the Best
I enjoy Lori Wicks but this book was not my favorite. The heroine seemed weak to me and I could not seem to get a firm grasp of who she was and what her character was all about. I do enjoy the books that are linked, (Rocky mountain series, The califorians, etc) and it is nice to read morally clean romance books.
I do recommend books by Lori Wicks, they are good easy reads when I need something light, clean, uplifting, and fairly quick.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Ok, but Western romance has been done better...
First of all, I don't know any father who would command his daughter to marry a man who works for him. That said, my eyes rolled too many times to count especially when Travis and Rebecca interacted. Lori was a bit trite in describing their relationsip to the point where the word "tender" was overused . Also, I was bothered that she introduced characters from Pine Grove but had no follow through. At least the ending was fathomable. Lucky for Lori, I enjoyed her other books such as any from the Kensington ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Disgusting!
I love Lori Wick's books and I loved the beginning of this book. Then Rebecca, who obviously didn't love Travis at all, leaves. I was thinking it would only be for a few weeks but she has the twins and stays there for 6 years! Her children become spoiled and she doesn't even think about Travis! I couldn't even finish the book! It was horrible!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good at points, bad at points.
The first point was very unexpected. I noticed that some events that happened in Book 1 also occurred in Book 2. When I think of a series, I think it is a continuous story. But, I will see what the other books in this series have to offer. There are also some slow times in this book, especially in Pine Grove. But, they are critical to the book because they let you in on feelings of Rebecca and Travis. I also didn't care for the ending too much. I was expecting something dramatic. The ending left several ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Loved It!
I absolutely loved this book even though there was one part I really didn't care for. That shows how much I enjoyed it. I believe Lori overdid it in the middle when Rebecca was raising the twins and was still apart from Travis, although I did feel it was quite cleverly written. I truly enjoyed reading and seeing how Rebecca changed and grew as a person after she returned home to Travis. I do highly recommend this. It is truly one of a kind.
