This guide is excellent and extremely educational, and it has beautiful illustrations throughout. It suggests places to go, restaurants, galleries, hotels, cathedrals, walks, etc. and how to get there. Lots of maps, including ones that show surrounding streets and buildings. A phrase book section is included, along with rules of pronunciation and an explanation of the Cyrillic alphabet. If you are going to Moscow or just want to learn about the city, I strongly recommend this one. JW

The guide book doesn't mention the reasons why you should avoid Moscow like the plague. I am not a negative person, but these facts are inescapable - and should be carefully considered.
Where to start?
1. The common people of Moscow are extremely unfriendly and rude, particularly if you are a foreigner. I bought this for a business trip to Moscow, since I really do not like to arrive @ a city I have never been to before without a clue. The guide was pretty good and accurate, but honestly and without any intention of criticizing Russians, the only thing that works in Moscow is having your interpreter to go about with you.

Worst Travel Guide EVER!!!
We travel internationally at least 3-4 times a year on vacation with our family. Therefore, I always buy a travel guide to help us with our destination. Our trip to Moscow in August 2008 was no exception.
So bought this Eyewitness travel guide for Moscow because I heard it was a difficult city to get around.
