Ok, so I have read the first books in this series and was happy to keep going with them but at about half way through this book I just had to put it down. I love all kinds of romance books but I can't possibly get into one where through most of the book it jumps into detail about children being abused! It is gut retching and maybe that's what she was going for but in my opinion that is not romantic! The only thing I have gotten out of this book so far is fear and worry for the children in this book ... Read More

I loved the beginning half of this book. It was electric. Behind Closed Doors and Extreme Danger are my two favorite McCloud series books. I've read them all and enjoyed them all.

This was my first Shannon McKenna book and I loved it. In fact I gave it as gifts after reading and when people in the bookstore ask for a good romantic suspense I suggest this with the warning of the violence and sexual content. McKenna had me hooked from the first page. SPOILER: I actually had to read the part where the hero cuts her hair to my friend over the phone - I was so shocked. I mean, handcuff a woman and point a pistol at her head, fine - but do not chop her hair off without consent!

I had a very hard time getting into this book. The first 10 chapters were difficult and then it got a bit easier (but only a bit). I don't know what really it was about this book that made it so difficult, it just didn't sit well with me. I'm glad I didn't buy it and that I borrowed it from the library.

I love her stories!!! This was one of the absolute best, I felt how remoresful he(the hero) was in the end of the story and her(the goddess) struggle to forgive despite the fact that she loved him. So good, I cried.
