Editorial Review:
Product Description: In this lovingly rendered cookbook memoir, Anna Teresa Callen takes readers on a culinary journey to Naples, one of her favorite Italian cities. From antipasti, soups, and pizza, to a host of pasta, fish, meat, and vegetable dishes, this collection of more than 250 recipes covers the cuisine of the Campania region, including its capital, Naples, the islands of Capri and Ischia, and the Amalfi coast. Neapolitan cuisine exemplifies la cucina povera or "the cooking of the poor", whose inventiveness with inexpensive local ingredients produced the region's legendary mozzarella di bufala, the famed, succulent ragu alla napoletana, and simple, hearty dishes that make the most of seasonal vegetables and abundant seafood. A skilled cooking instructor, the author provides easy, step-by-step instructions and much more.

Like I've said before, you can download recipes from the internet for free. When you purchase a cookbook, you are looking for something special. This book comes close, and is better than most. It should have been better illustrated with beautiful photographs of the finished dishes for the price charged.
Still a good book for those who are passionate about southern italian cuisine.

But there is no brandy. not a soupcon, much less a jigger. Nor does she mention the brandy in her general instructions. So what is the ... Read More

Ok, I will. This book has so many recipes that I want to try! Last week I tried out the Bruschetta with Ricotta and Herbs to rave reviews! Not only does the book contain numerous delicious recipes, it also accompanied by short paragraphs about the author's own experiences with the recipes. I can't wait to show up this Christmas with a batch of the Honey-Glazed Fritters, that is if I can leave the house without my dad eating them all first!

The photos in the cookbook are so gorgeous! I've tried a couple of recipes in the book and they turned out well. I'm not the most experienced cook and this cookbook does a really job at explaining things step-by-step. I think it'll definitely come in handy for my dinner parties!
