Editorial Review:

Product Description:
How did Johnny Blaze end up in Hell, anyway? It's simple, really: He died. And when he died, his eternal soul - long promised to Hell in exchange for "saving" Crash Simpson - descended into the Pit, taking the Ghost Rider along with it. This is the story of how and why it all happened, courtesy of writer Daniel Way and horror-comic legend Richard Corben. Plus: In a small town northeast of Chicago, people are losing their heads... literally. The sheriff of this sleepy little town firmly believes he's found the culprit - a scruffy drifter found sleeping in the bushes with blood on his clothes and no believable explanation for where he was and what he was doing when the murders occurred. He even gave the sheriff a fake name: "Johnny Blaze." But the identity of the true culprit is even more macabre: Lucifer has taken up residence in a new host - a casualty of Civil War who's bound to raise eyebrows! Collects Ghost Rider (2006) #6-12.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fun, Fun Read
I don't get the negative reviews on this series at all. I've really enjoyed it. It's fast, well written, has an interesting, spooky premise, has cool visuals, and has great, well done, well choreographed action sequences that have a lot of impact, use the environments the characters are in to great effect, and just feel brutal.

In this particular volume, the art is handled by the normal artist, Mark Texeira, as well as guest artist Richard Corben. While I prefer Texeira's art, both ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Graphic SF Reader
Can't say I am a fan of the stumpy legged art style Corben is using at the start of this, that makes them look like kids at times in the trapped by Lucifer in small town deal.

Improved are the issues with the later artists, and an amusing Civil War tie where Lucifer uses the body of Jack O'Lantern to duel Ghost Rider. Plus a few hopeless zombies and one artillery packing hexagenarian sheriff.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - More boring than anything else
Daniel Way's re-launched run on Ghost Rider hasn't been anything special, and The Life & Death of Johnny Blaze is no different. Here, we learn some more about Johnny's time in Hell, before he finds himself accused of some vicious murders. Besides some attempts to tie into marvel's mega Civil War event, that's really all there is to this second TPB, which continues Way's unbelievably boring take on the character. Even though the TPB itself isn't that long, it feels like it is, mostly thanks to ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 'A Collector's Review'
This 'Ghost Rider' book is a surreal, suspenseful, awing, intriguing, captivating, exciting, wonderful, and spectacularly colorful and artistic book to behold and read.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - not that great
The story has a few good moments, but is overall forgetable. The artwork is definately not in the same category as the other novels in this series. Get it only to complete the series if you must.
