If youre going to Easter Island, dont get this book! Better is Frommers which covers ALL of Chile, including Easter Island.

I purchased this book for my clients planning a trip to Chile. They said it answered all their questions and more. It is an excellent guide with very pertinent information for the first-time traveler to Chile.

My name is Jack Trout and I wrote the fly fishing sections for Fodor's Travel Books for Argentina and Chile.
If you need any information about Chile and Argentina, please don't hesitate to contact me at info@jacktrout.com. I have guided Chile for past 17 years and can help you not only float down a beautiful Chilean river and put you on a quality Patagonian trout, but also assist folks often about where to stay and what to expect on your special holiday vacation.

The actual writing in the book is fine. However, the maps are terrible. This book is written for older, wealthy, travelers who can't see that well.
Therefore, they make the maps large but are very, very, incomplete. You can't use them at all. I'm not a big fan of Lonely Planet, but their maps are great.
