I loved this book and read it with my book group. The stories are really funny and not offensive to southerners. The recipes are good, too.

My late, lamented, dear friend, Jerry, first turned me on to this book, and not mainly because of the food. The commentary (shall we say "running commentary?") is the best part. When he passed on, naturally, I made several somethings from the book for his post-funeral reception. Bland's upside down-cake (fake or not!) is great! So is the vodka cake. I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be using it as part of my research around 'Food and Funerals' I loved the recipes included with the witty remarks and at times almost felt present at the occasions!
My interest is whether or not we sequester death in todays society and if so how. My univeristy paper is entitled 'Death and Dying'. Thanks again to our authors on this highly recommended book.

This book is charming, funny, and helpful. My 80 something neighbor lady wanted me to get it for her so I ordered one for myself too. The delivery time was reasonable and both books are in very good condition.
