Editorial Review:
Product Description: Wouldn't it be great if you could climb into bed, snuggle under your covers, and fall asleep without any fuss or fear? Without listening for noises or thinking about bad guys? Without an extra drink, or an extra hug, or an extra trip to the bathroom? Bedtime is tough for many kids. If you're a kid who dreads your bed, and are convinced that nothing short of magic will make nighttime easier, this book is for you.
What to Do When You Dread Your Bed guides children and their parents through the cognitive-behavioral techniques used to treat problems with sleep. Fears, busy brains, restless bodies, and overdependence on parents are all tackled as children gain the skills they need for more peaceful nights. This interactive self-help book is the complete resource for educating, motivating, and empowering children to fall asleep and stay asleep--like magic!

We bought this for our 9 year old son. He has never slept in our bed and always slept alone, in his room. He started being afraid of having bad dreams, so he didn't want to go to sleep. Going to bed took 2+ hours and he was up and down every hour or two during the night. We read the book with him over a 2-3 week period. Bedtime is now peaceful, again. He is sleeping 9-10 hours at night and he doesn't have the axiety over going to bed.

Dawn Huebner is a great author and has a wonderful way of making difficult subjects easy to talk about. I only wish she would make more books! I highly recommend anything she writes, including this one. I only gave it 3 stars b/c I haven't been able to use it yet.

Dr. Huebner has given us another gem in helping kiddos with problems. And when she helps children master their lives, everyone benefits. I highly recommend this book for families with little (and not so little)ones who have sleep issues.

I almost cried when I read this book the first time! I felt like a miracle had just landed in my lap! My child is almost 7 years old and every single night since he was born has been a challenge to get him to sleep. I cannot say thank you enough to this amazing author for creating this gift for my family. I have bought at least 10 books on anxiety in children and this is the only one I would recommend. I'm sure it would help those with mild or severe issues.
Before I grew up, I thought ... Read More
