This unique detective book is intensely emotional and hilariously witty while dealing with a serious subject that is severely overlooked in modern society. Neo-nazi's are extremists bent on hating anyone that isn't white, straight, or shares their same belief systems. Their actions are hurtful and violent, and they prey on innocent minds, recruiting the next wave of terror. Not only does Ms. Marquette deal with this subject in an eloquent and informational way, she shows the reader how someone as ... Read More

I was a bit concerned about the topic. The book cover with a Swastica made me a bit squeamish. But, yet I decided to read this book and read it with an open mind.
White extremist groups, is such a hard subject to write about, and unless you have the knowledge and talent to write about it, I suggest you don't.
There are too many dangerous pitfalls.
Ms Marquette does a wonderful job here. She writes about 2 characters that have gone through a painful breakup, but need ... Read More

...and even better that it's the first of a series. Once you get to know K.C., Chris, Sage, and the other characters, you'll not want to leave them.

Fortunately, Andi Marquette has ... Read More

That sounds like really good, cold drink. That's what Andi Marquette's first novel is like. This is a well-written, thoroughly engrossing story. Fully fleshed, delightfully real characters set about their business in a lovingly described landscape and setting. Reading this book, set in New Mexico, made me want to eat spicy food and wash it down with a nice Marquerita.
K. C. Fontero will someday finish up her doctoral program, I hope. Not likely to happen soon, if she keeps getting involved ... Read More

Wow, finally, a good book with an amazing lesbian character, great plot that has a bit of mystery and suspense, wonderful love story, and if that isn't enough, Marquette has captured Albuquerque with all of its rich history, color and yes, even its seedy side. She did this so well that at times the descriptions of the city left me utterly delighted. I don't live there now, but if I ever get a hankering for it, I'll just pick up this book.
I can hardly wait for her next novel. It will feature ... Read More
