All were bred by a passionate collector of roosters. The reader cannot help being confused by such random shapes, colors and textures.
The original framing and distinctness of the pictures are a trademark of the artist. He has created animal icons, new kinds of fashion victims. The malicious eye of Philippe Schlienger has succeeded in emphasizing the eccentricity of the rooster. The narcissism of the brave beast is highly amusing; in a nearly human way, the new icons are fun, posh, posing, and swanky.

A bit dissapointed with this book and its images. If I could have seen a few of the pages which Amazon sometimes offers the opportunity to do, I probably wouldn't have bought it.The photography is seeking to be artful but most of the time it just seems out of focus. I prefer the book Extraordinary Chickens - the birds are cool enough without crazy contrast and studio lighting.

This extraordinary coffee-table book features full colour plates of Roosters. The variety and diversity of the species is literally amazing. But it is the photography that makes this volume unique: the roosters are snapped from unusual angles - some head on, some over-the-shoulder almost like fashion models. All of the photographs are beautiful and eirie.
The book is well bound. The pages are printed on heavy paper. This is a rare, collectable volume.
