Editorial Review:
Product Description: Top Rating from Canadian Toy Testing. This popular cooperative game for young children brings players together as they work to harvest their gardens before winter comes. This is a simple but challenging game for beginners that reinforces cooperative skills, as well as an awareness of farming and seasonal cycles. Includes 12" x 12" board, die, 48 vegetable pieces, winter and spring puzzle pieces, rules for extended "spring planting" game. For 2Ð4 players, ages 3Ð7.
Editorial Review: Children learn the benefits of cooperation in this innovative game from Family Pastimes. Each player tends a small garden composed of four different types of vegetables. The object is for all players to harvest all the vegetables before winter arrives. If one of the four colors comes up when the color-coded die is thrown, then each player may harvest one vegetable of that color from his or her own garden or from any of the other gardens. If the die comes up black, each player may choose which color vegetable to pick. If the die shows a white dot, then a Winter piece must be placed on the board. The game ends when all players harvest all vegetables, or when all six Winter pieces are filled in.
Cooperation is encouraged with a few special rules: if a player's garden has been completely harvested and he or she rolls the white dot, then a winter piece is removed. Players are thus subtly encouraged to concentrate on one garden at a time, instead of each tending only to their own gardens. --Michael Fehlauer

It isn't a competition game as much as it is a cooperation game, so if having a clear cut winner is what you want, this probably isn't the game for you.
Each player has a farm with four different crops to harvest before autumn turns to winter. You roll the die to determine which crop you may pick or if you have to move everyone closer ... Read More
