Editorial Review:

Description:
Join America's sweetheart, Lizzie McGuire, on the trip of a lifetime in the theatrical hit THE LIZZIE MCGUIRE MOVIE, starring teen sensation Hilary Duff (AGENT CODY BANKS). Goodbye, home! Hello, Rome! Lizzie, along with classmates Gordo, Kate, and Ethan, is celebrating with a graduation trip to Italy to experience la dolce vita -- and some awesome pizza! In a whirlwind of comic events, Lizzie is mistaken for Italy's biggest pop diva, Isabella, and falls for Paolo, Isabella's handsome singing partner. Transformed from awkward teen into international pop star, Lizzie now has the choice of a lifetime. Will becoming Italy's next singing sensation also mean leaving her family and close friends behind? It's up to Lizzie to embrace newfound courage and do things she never thought possible. Find out what dreams are made of in THE LIZZIE MCGUIRE MOVIE.

Amazon.com:
The Lizzie McGuire Movie spins around the axis of Disney Channel starlet Hilary Duff, whose glossy good looks and rather mature figure are balanced by a sweetly bashful persona and an endearing klutziness. On a school trip to Rome, Lizzie is discovered to be the virtual twin of an Italian pop star named Isabella--and her dreamy former partner wants Lizzie to take Isabella's place at an award show to avoid a lawsuit. Only Lizzie's loyal best friend Gordo (Adam Lamberg) suspects that Paolo may not be all that he seems. The Lizzie McGuire Movie is competent fluff, but the most fun to be had actually comes from Lizzie's pesky little brother (Jake Thomas) and his Machiavellian friend Melina (Carly Schroeder), who plot to humiliate Lizzie for fun and personal gain. Also featuring Alex Borstein (Mad TV) as Lizzie's tyrannical principal and chaperone. --Bret Fetzer

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Lizzie Goes Rome!
"The Lizzie McGuire Movie" is really good! Lizzie is mistaken for a famous singer, Isabella, who looks alot like her, except for their hair color (Lizzie's is blond, while Isabella's is brunette). This means that right after Lizzie makes a wish, tossing a coin into a fountain, the fun begins when she goes from a regular (junior) high school student to a popular singer! You'll love her song, "What Dreams are Made of!" This movie's as good as:

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - So Cute!
Hillary Duff is adorable and she has come a long way from her TV roots, but I'll always remember her as the plucky Lizzy McGuire.

This totally did the TV show justice.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - I really enjoyed watching it.
I really enjoyed the Lizzie McGuire movie. It was light and entertaining.
But I don't know if I would want my daughter to watch it because it's based on deception and I am really concerned about her not learning the wrong thing.

Lizzie is pretending to get sick so she could sneak out and do other things. But for those who already know right from wrong and won't be convinced that lying is ok based on this movie, it's entertaining.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Parents, Think Twice!
The only thought in my mind throughout this whole movie was the Natalie Holloway case, about the girl last summer that went on that school trip, went off with a boy and disappeared. In this movie, Hilary Duff's character is on a school trip to Rome, meets a guy there and then fakes sick to get away from the school group to follow this guy around Rome. I felt so bad that Disney had made this movie showing a young girl going off on her own with a boy she did not know on a school trip because it rang so ... Read More

They don't really watch this anymore. Was good at the time.
