Peeps hav written negative reviews becuz all the students are white females - talk about closed minded. So, if all the students had been native american, then the teachings would of been valid?! Get real. Not one negative reviewer dissed the material, just the man. The info was on which herbs healed what ailment- how is that a fraud? Or on how to build something, how is that a fraud? Very well presented and a lot of general information. For recipes, amounts, duration of actual treatment, etc. will take more research. Mr. Twobirds is excellent in the film.

My view of this video was quite positive. I am glad that I did not get the
negative reviews before or after watching it. I am very sensitive to the exploitation of women...and did not see any here. So what that women were the main students in this video. This is a great video to get inspiration moving in people that are newly as well as not newly interested in herbalism and medicine. I felt that John Twobirds gave alot of pertinent information here. This DVD was beautifully produced, well written, did not waste words, and left you feeling informed and inspirited. If you are interested in Native Amerian traditions and healing methods, this is a perfect introduction.

I accessed this DVD online HOPING to find a decent piece of media that represents native folks with some dignity and respect. I certainly understand the longing for community and search for healing in a society of cultural orphans. Yet, as an indigenous women that is very linked to her tribal community, I do not support commodification, appropriation, or a smearing generalization of what one person imagines "native American Medicine" to be.
