Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
With a reported budget of $172 million, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines starts in high gear and never slows down. The apocalyptic "Judgment Day" of T2 was never prevented, only postponed: John Connor (Nick Stahl, replacing T2's Edward Furlong), now 22 and disconnected from society, is being pursued yet again, this time by the advanced T-X, a sleek "Terminatrix" (coldly expressionless Kristanna Loken) programmed to stop Connor from becoming the savior of humankind. Originally programmed as an assassin, a disadvantaged T-101 cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger, bidding fond farewell to his signature role) arrives from the future to join Connor and his old acquaintance Kate (Claire Danes) in thwarting the T-X's relentless pursuit. The plot presents a logical fulfillment of T2 prophesy, disposing of Connor's mother (Linda Hamilton is sorely missed) while computer-driven machines assume control, launching a nuclear nightmare that Connor must survive. With Breakdown and U-571 serving as worthy rehearsals for this cautionary epic of mass destruction, director Jonathan Mostow wisely avoids any stylistic connection to James Cameron's Terminator classics; instead he's crafted a fun, exciting popcorn thriller, humorous and yet still effectively nihilistic, and comparable to Jurassic Park III in returning the Terminator franchise to its potent B-movie roots. --Jeff Shannon

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Weaksauce, no james cameron, no good movie.
T3 was disapointing for me, it didnt have that same flavor from T1 and T2, sort of cheesy feeling. Cheapy flavor. its likes coca cola, and other sodas tryin to imitate such as pepsi. it doesnt have the same ingredients. not a good movie.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - It Lacked the Most Important Terminator Element--James Cameron
I had hoped that Blu-ray technology would bolster my opinion of this movie. I still found it very lackluster. The only positive attribute of the film was T-X. James Cameron could have made this movie another Terminator masterpiece. Without his cinematic genius behind the camera, it was just another stagnant sci-fi film with an excessive hollywood budget.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Same as T2
Had the basic plot as T2 but with new actors and a different twist. I am giving it Four stars because the updated special effects helped give the movie that needed feel. Definitely worth a look, if you like the Terminator series.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Follow up on T2
It's a good follow up on T2 considering it's missing the major actors, Arnold and Linda Hamilton. They could have had other Terminators other than old video of Arnold animated in fight scenes. While the special effects aren't impressive to wipe out the story they hold their own. Some special effects seem very early Transformer like.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - On Blu-Ray : good buy
I got my copy few days ago. Don't expect too much from this 2003 movie and this Blu-ray is just reasonable. Not too much different from my older DVD copy, expect better sounds and sharper. But for under $10, a good buy indeed.
