The point of these movies is that going to war costs a lot of money and requires a lot of sacrifices. That's a lesson that seems very important today giving what is going on in history. These movies tell the story of how the governement issued war bonds in order to get the american people to invest in the conflict against germany and Japan. Propoganda is a strong word for these movies, since what they really are are movies that were made during World War II to help motivate people to support the war effort and keep our spirits high. I remember this era very well and how difficult times were and how important messages like this were for us. The films themselves brought back good memories and I had fun watching them. The most striking thing for me about this DVD when I watched it is that there are a lot of different types of clips on it. It's not really all propoganda in the strict sense.
What is really on here are a bunch of different intersting films made during and before World War II - some of them about America and some of them about other countries helping America.
