Editorial Review:
Description: A POPEYE collector's dream! Features some of the best of the original 1930's POPEYE cartoons produced by the Max Fleischer Studio, including all 3 of the extra-length color specials. All remastered from the original 35mm materials and restored to their original brilliance.

The interviews are worth the price of this DVD alone. Just fabulous. Of course the new Warner's DVDs are terrific, but these interviews are not part of that collection. The transfers in most cases on this DVD are very good and you won't be disappointed, but the extras are going to Blow You Down, and you must have this disk to go with your new Warner's Vol #1 and Vol#2.

Popeye is popeye you either like him or you don't, I DO!!!
Bluto and Olive Oyl are also excellent. Most of the stuff Walt Disney put out was excellent.

Unfortunately, every time I tried to play ... Read More

I realize that the official Popeye Vol. 1 collection is coming out in a week or so, and have pre-ordered it...but don't let that dissuade you from getting this or any of the Thunderbean releases. They are very thoughtfully compiled, priced very reasonably...and always have great liner notes and/or extras. so even if you order the official one...this is a worthy addition and companion.

These are the same low end video transfers of these cartoons you can but at Wal Mart for half the price. There must be a cleaner version of this work but this is not it!
