Editorial Review:
Description: Man with the Screaming Brain is a story of greed, betrayal and revenge in the big, bad city. William Cole, wealthy industrialist, winds up with part of his brain replaced by that of Yegor, a Bulgarian street hustler. The two couldn't be more different, but they share one thing - both were killed by the same woman. Brought back to life by a mad scientist, William and Yegor form an unlikely partnership to track down their common nemesis.
Amazon.com: The Man with the Screaming Brain is cult superstar Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead 2), who also makes his directorial debut in this loopy blend of '50s-style science fiction thrills and slapstick comedy. Campbell plays a businessman who meets an untimely end at the hands of a vicious Gypsy femme fatale, who has also done in her ex-fiancée, an KGB-agent-turned-taxi-driver. Mad doctor Stacy Keach provides a solution for both men by stitching together their brains inside Campbell's dome; with no other option but to work together, the pair sent out to find their killer. What results is a broadly funny and frantic showcase for Campbell's physical comedy skills, with Ted Raimi (Spider-Man, Xena) offering hilarious support as Keach's wacky assistant. Campbell fanatics will appreciate the DVD's extras, which include a featurette on the film's lengthy gestation (18 years from conception to completion), and commentary by Campbell and producer David Goodman; a trailer, behind-the-scenes footage, and storyboards round out the supplemental features. --Paul Gaita

Doesn't seem to matter what Evil Dead champion Bruce (Ash!) Campbell does, you can't help but be amused in the wierd, wooly way that one can only be amused by high school high jinx. We all knew these guys in school (geez, I think I was one of them) and they were crazy funny then and they're crazy funny now. A silly stretch of the imagination with no apologies and what a coup to secure Stacy Keach for the mad scientist. Another movie to add to the repertoire of mindless fun coming from Bruce, the ... Bruce Campbell gets 4 stars as a 4 time treat (writer/producer/director/and star) in this fine sci-fi made for tv movie thatdoes a great job following the old-school sci-fi tradition of over the top weirdness.
Bruce Campbell can do no wrong
Enjoy the movie

After being killed by a blow to the head delivered by a homicidal Bulgarian gypsy woman, industrialist William Cole (Bruce Campbell) becomes the world's first recipient of a donor brain, in the form of half of the brain of a communist cab driver. Now Cole must deal with having both a communist and a capitalist in his head, while trying to avenge his own murder.

This is one you're probably better off renting first before you buy. Not awful, but not up to the standards of "Army of Darkness" or even "Bubba Ho Tep". It starts off slow and never really seems to get going, even though there are a few good laughs every now and then. It helps to have a few beers handy while watching.

This film is so campy that the laughs
just kept coming. It steals the best
of many horror films and makes the worst
of it.
A definite "Must See" if you like campy
horror flicks. Too funny to miss.
