Heather (Agnes Bruckner) is forced to go to a remote boarding-school by her domineering mum (Emma Campbell), while her silent dad (Bruce Campbell himself!) looks on. The trouble begins almost as soon as Heather's parents have driven away. This is no ordinary girl's academy. The instructors, led by Ms. Traverse (Patricia Clarkson), are all solemn, stiff types, w/ no ability to smile. The students are captives in this cold, regimented prison. Heather is lost in this place, seeing the whole ordeal as ... Read More

THIS FILM IS FANTASTIC! IT HAS ALL THE COMPONENTS OF A CREATIVE, GREAT, AND INTELLIGENT MOVIE.
THE SUSPENSE, AND DRAMATIC WAY IN WICH WE LEARN THAT THE SPIRITS IN THE WOODS ARE RESTLESS, IS PRICELESS. I'VE SEEN THIS FILM FIVE TIMES, AND LEARNED SOMETHING NEW, WHILE ENJOYING IT EACH TIME. THE ACTRESSES ARE GREAT! THIS FILM WAS OVERLOOKED, AND SADLY SO. IT IS SOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE MINDLESS SLASHER FLICKS, THAT ARE CELEBRATED. FOR THE THINKING VIEWER, IT IS AT THE TOP OF THE LIST!

This movie was VERY GOOD. Great air of spookiness and very creepy. Reminded me alot of Suspiris.

The biggest question I have about "The Woods" is why is it rated R?? There is very little gore, no nudity or language, it seems the target audience for this flick would be teenage girls, so I'm not sure why the Adult rating? Outside of that, "The Woods" isn't a bad little movie. I won't dive into the specifics as I hate throwing out spoilers. I had no idea what this film was about, and enjoyed just letting it unfold. I was kind of hoping for a "Nerd-Out-For-Revenge" flick like "Evilspeak", "Ginger ... Read More

the production was the only reason i gave it a 2. the movie overall is pretty borin until the end, which is ok i guess. There isnt really anything eerie or creepy throughout the entire movie. and the branchs going around flipping cars and killing people is stupid, to say the least.if you want to watch a good witch movie, just go watch suspiria and dont waste your time with this one.
