The Battle of Gettysburg is considered the turning point of the Civil War by many historians. Three bloody days of battle took place in Pennsylvania in 1863, with General Lee leading the Confederate Army and General Meade leading the Army of the Potomac. This DVD features a digitized 1938 film that shows a reunion of soldiers and a recap of events and places in Gettysburg National Military Park. This movie calls the Battle of Gettysburg "the beginning of the end for the Confederacy." Table Of Contents: (1) They Met at Gettysburg (1938) - This is a great film made for Gettysburg National Military Park that shows first-hand footage of the Gettysburg veterans, battlefields, monuments and important sites circa 1938. The footage includes 65 living veterans who actually participated in the battle. These veterans were attending a Gettysburg veteran reunion, recounting their memories and stories from the battle at the reunion. A good narration of the events leading up to Robert E. Lee's concentration of troops in Gettysburg area is given while showing video of the real land involved. Later, a parade is shown, along with more footage of the veterans, various monuments, the memorial cemetery and various sites where important segments of the battle took place - 10 Minutes

I have seen the entire 10 minutes on many Television shows about the Civil War, veterans and the like. For the price, it really isn't worth the money in my opinion, especially when its just 10 minutes.
If it was focused on their stories, with sound and could hear their words and not a narrator--fine. The pictures are shakey, understandingly so due to the equipment then.
I was hopeful that it would have more meat to the DVD. I was disappointed.
