Editorial Review:
Product Description: At 4, Elvis became my brother. At 16, my brother became The King. Based on a true story. Sex, drugs and violence--they're all part of the job when you're working for The King of Rock & Roll. And when you're only 16, the on-the-job training comes in ways that can't be taught in school. Prepare to be all shook up by the shocking true story of David Stanley, stepbrother and bodyguard of Elvis Presley. Through the dizzying highs and lows of life on the road with unlimited excess, he experienced it all...and barely survived. DVD Features Include: Behind the Scenes Featurette, and Director's Commentary

Another good Elvis movie--except for the profanity. I know a lot of that went on, but I could have done without it. Then, the whole family could have watched it. It was a good story about David Stanley. I was wondering why the other two Stanley boys were not included in the movie. And why Dee Stanley Presley's hair was reddish-brown instead of blond. Anyway, it was an interesting Elvis movie, and I was drawn to the character David. You had to like this guy. And all the actors were great, especially ... Read More

i only got this as a used item, as I didn't want to spend money on this at all. No where in the entire DVD is Elvis Presley's name mentioned, you just have to guess. I am sure they did not get licensing okay from EPE. I watched it and didn't hate it, but it is not exactly what you would expect.

Seemed like a cheap way to cash in on being Elvis' step-brother. On the other hand, it was entertaining. Also, if the story ending is true, then Mr. Stanley got a raw deal and I can understand why he felt he should tell his story his way. Elvis' name is never mentioned, so you have to imagine most of this. Elvis' persona is not tarnished too much by this film, but there is a lot of reference to the darned overdone drug stuff.
If you are curious, not a bad film.

I'm and Elvis fan and I recommend this movie. Yeah, I know, don't tell me, how could i recommend something put out by any Stanley? But really, the movie isn't that bad. It's not quite an A movie, but it is still very entertaining. Names are changed and obviously this film wasn't really made with the permission of anyone but David Stanley, but I still liked it! Self-serving towards the end mostly, but I appreciate that David Stanley didn't throw in his suicide theory. Besides being entertaining, this ... Read More

I rented this movie and I thought it was great. I believed every solitary thing in the movie. The movie is recommended by me. I think the movie was done well and moved easily too. It's the bold face truth. It's nothing really shocking or bad either. I also enjoyed the book Elvis What happened? by his other body guards. There's nothing really bad in that book either. He was a human being. No saint. Why is everyone so upset to hear the truth?
