Product Description: Neil & abby have a worry-free life until their young daughter goes missing & a strange gunman named ryan shows up. Clearly masterminding the kidnapping ryan insists the couple perform various tasks for him in order to protect their child. Soon ryan escalates to a request that may be impossible to fill. Studio: Lions Gate Home Ent. Release Date: 09/09/2008 Starring: Pierce Brosnan Maria Bello Run time: 94 minutes Rating: R
Amazon.com: Pierce Brosnan takes a step away from James Bond with his malevolent role in Shattered. Neil Randall (Gerard Butler) seems a loving father and the perfect husband for his happy wife Abby (Maria Bello). But when the two leave their daughter with a babysitter and drive off, a man with a gun (Brosnan) appears in their backseat and puts them through a series of tests that threaten to destroy their marriage. Shattered is a taut little thriller that comes to a not entirely satisfying end; once we learn what's behind the kidnapper's games, the air goes out of the movie. But as it goes along, Shattered has a lot of momentum, mystery, and tension, and the solid cast keeps the emotions gritty and intense. Brosnan works his steely-eyed squint, Butler practically foams at the mouth with repressed rage, and Bello manages to be frightened, determined, and sexy, all at the same time. Keep your expectations low and Shattered will be an enjoyable thriller. --Bret Fetzer

The beginning -- gives you just a glimpse of both sides of the husband...just enough to make you guess why someone would want to make his life a living hell, but not enough for you to know for sure. That's what makes for a suspenseful movie.
The middle -- lots of action to keep you entertained. The kidnapper seems hell bent on destroying this man's life, but you are only teased as to his motives. You also get a closer look at both sides of the husband: the protector and the destroyer. ... Read More

I think this movie was just awesome. Everyone did a great job in their roles and I recommend it to anyone with children, although I don't recommend the children watch it. This story is about a man who has the so-called perfect life. He has a great job, a great wife, a beautiful daughter and things just can't seem to get any better. Then out of nowhere his daughter is kidnapped and his entire world is turned upside down, and I mean devestatingly turned upside down. I suggest renting it and seeing for yourself. ... Read More
