I expected the most out of this film because it starred Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio and even though it is a good film, I found it to not live up to my expectations. The acting is very good and the plot is fairly easy to follow, but I found myself wanting a little more out of this story. I rate it 3 1/2 stars for it's good use of locations, good acting and an interesting story about what goes on outside our little comfort zone we live in. It's a good film, just not the best I've seen on the ... Read More

This movie is pure entertainment ... fast-moving, interesting, superb acting, just simply well-done. I suspect, as is the case with most excellent movies, it never sets out to make a statement or be politically correct. Rather, it sets out to tell a tale, to provide a way to escape -- for just a bit -- from a world in which much of the reality of humanity is either so bleak as to be its own personal horror show or so boring it is the equivalent of one big global quaalude.

This movie doesn't fit neatly into a genre: It's part action movie and part geo-political thriller, which I think irritated some viewers. But I really liked it. As a general rule, I like spy movies, Russell Crowe movies, and Ridley Scott movies. DiCaprio and Crowe were both great. As Ferris, DiCaprio really captured the essence of a well meaning idealist, who is working toward a better world, but is coming to realize that his day to day activities may not be consistent with his ultimate goals. Likewise, ... Read More

United State's Central Intelligence Agency's Middle East Representative, Roger Ferris, is based in Amman, Jordan, and is keeping a watch on a 'safe house' and believes it to be frequented by young Muslim males. He has information that Al Saleem may be behind terrorist attacks, but lacks any evidence to apprehend him or any of his associates. His plan to implicate Dubai-based Architect, Omar Sadiki, not only fails, his Iranian girlfriend, Aisha, gets abducted, and he must decide whether to surrender himself ... Read More

this movie gives an extremely US-centric and therefore biased of not only the reality of the war on terror but also middle eastern culture and its people. If you want to be brainwashed, go ahead and buy or rent it. If you want something much more truthful, watch rendition or the valley of elah.
