I think this is the best superhero action movie since the first Batman back in 1989. I loved the visuals and the character development was superbly done. Overall great story, great movie, and it was even inspirational!

It's great. One of the few times super-heroes are done by a director
who knows the comics.

Spider-man is the summer blockbuster based on the old Marvel comic book. It is fun to watch, but is nothing more than that.
The story follows Peter Parker, a misfit teen, who is bit by a genetically altered spider in a science lab. The spider gives him supernatural 'spider' powers, including the ability to swing from webs and climb up and down buildings. It also gives him great agility. He, at first, uses these powers for bad, seeking money and revenge for his uncle's murder. But soon he sees the light and starts catching criminals. He becomes the city phantom.
Parker's best friend's father's name is Norman Osborne. Osborne's multi-million dollar company is making large suits and chemicals to make the human body stronger. Osborne tries these chemicals and is overpowered by an evil essence called the Green Goblin. The Goblin controls his mind and causes him to murder many innocent people. Osborne then turns evil. It is up to Spider-man, aka Peter Parker, to stop the Green Goblin, aka Norman Osborne, and save the city, as well as the ones he loves.
This movie is made kind of like a video game in the sense that everything takes place swinging fast from high buildings. It is a fun movie, and I reccommend watching it.

There's no need to discuss the plot of SPIDER-MAN, and that isn't because the story is secondary to action in the movie. It isn't because even people who have never picked up a SPIDER-MAN comic book know that Peter Parker got his powers from a bite from a radioactive (or, in the context of the movie, mutant) spider. It isn't because the popularity of the character made sure that every living person on the planet would sooner or later see the SPIDER-MAN movie.
It's because what's worth talking about in a review of the SPIDER-MAN movie is the fact that the characters as well as the comic itself have been done justice. SPIDER-MAN is one of the most iconic, beloved, and enduring creations in comics, and in many ways, embodies all of the most essential qualities of a superhero. A movie based on his comic could only work if it were taken as seriously as anything Shakespeare wrote.
It taken seriously, and just in the nick of time too. SPIDER-MAN mave have had more difficulty getting made than any other comic book adaptation ever. If it hadn't been made when it was, Spidey may very well have lost all hope of making a live action, big screen appearance.
But after seeing SPIDER-MAN, it' pretty clear that the web-slinger won't be going anywhere for a long time.
