This was a Christmas gift as well, but I have seen this movie before, many times. Great movie and worth every penny. When I first saw this movie back in the early nineties I couldn't believe that Donald Sutherland starred in this film, as the Head Master of the Catholic school. A must have for cult-classic watchers.

If you went to Catholic school in the 1960s, or even grow up Catholic; this movie is a must see.

I first saw this movie on Bravo I think and I immediately fell in love with it. The fact that the tape I recorded it on has vanished is what brings me here and felt it necessary to help support all the other fans in supporting this way under rated charm. It has a straight forward story line dotted with some more serious situations to prevent it from becomming silly. Overall, the theme is one which allows many to connect to their own expeiences growing up. This wasn't made on a high budget but when you watch it you'll see that for once, the quality of the story writing/character development stands out strong enough that it doesn't need overdone special effects to carry it or reach audiences. The story includes thought provoking issues that did once haunt the catholic school systems, intermixed with comical one liners. It's innocent, it's funny, and it's down to earth; not to mention the excellent street shots of Brooklyn and the Coney Island soon-to-be a memory captured in such scenes. Brighton Beach Memoirs is another great 80s flick set in Brooklyn that runs shoulder to shoulder with this one in the marathon of fun movies for humorous nostalgia.:)

This is a really good movie and I would recommend it to everyone. It is about five friends trying to make it through a prestegious prep school. Its got great friendship and alot of whitt.

I saw this movie so many times back in the day when it first came out on video. When I saw the DVD, I had to have it. This movie is so awesome and a blast to watch. Great cast and a great time.
