This documentary takes a close look at every facet of the First World War & its impact on Europe, the Mid-east, and the rest of the world.

Short review, this movie explains in every imaginable detail why, where and how the war took place. There is footage, great stories and actual accounts from soldiers in battle recorded in their diaries. This is a history lesson DVD box set that is beatuifully packaged. I have seen almost every WW2 dvd and this one rivals the best documentary. Discover how WW1 changed the Map of the world, set the stage for ww2 and changed history forever.
To understand war is to understand how, why and where you are today.

It is not perfect, but it is the best I have seen. If you are interested in the subject, it is a must-have.

I found this DVD to be extremely entertaining and informative. Due to computer complications I will not discuss details. Suffice it to say I learned a great deal about WW1 from this DVD set, far more than I did in college (I majored in history). The DVD is has a great deal of original footage and is narrated, not dramatized. My wife found this style of documentary to be terribly boring, but then again she has no interest in history. I typically enjoy dramatizations depicting historical events, but despite this series having no dramatizations I was still glued to it.
