I am a person who really, truly HATES to excercise! However, when I do these workouts it doesn't seem like working out. It seems more like art. I spend so much time and effort in trying to sweep my arms around properly and follow the beautiful movements of the dancers that an hour goes by and I've hardly noticed. I've already seen a big improvement in my body as well. I've lost a couple of pounds and everything is just more tone and sleak looking. I'd recommend this workout to anyone. Especially excercise haters such as myself.

As far as the quality of the tape content, excellent. However, this is the third time I have purchased this set or single from/thru Amazon; twice through a third party and the quality of the videos was poor.. This is the third poor quality reproducing of this video, yet the best of the three. The color and light in the video keeps fading and coming back yet it is rare to see a quality picture. I first saw this ON Demand/Comcast and I know the quality could be much better. Other DVD's run fine on my machine.

i like this dvd set but you should have some dance knowledge before attempting. it is very fast paced and a lot of fun. i like the ab work you get from it.

Don't laugh at me, I'm 50, and the last time I did a ballet class was when I was about 10 years old! But then I've always been very fit and don't carry any extra weight. Also, after driving my daughter to ballet class for years and years, watching her dance and listening to her accounts on technique I know a fair deal about ballet - turnout, posture, terms, etc. I started doing this workout last year and simply love the effect it has on my body and health in general. I have exercised all my life: step, spinning, toning, but I don't think my abdominals and glutes have ever been as toned as now. Also, my posture is a lot better, my lower backache is gone, and so are the stiff neck and shoulders I sometimes suffered from. I concentrate very hard on correct posture and technique when I exercise, which has probably added to the good effect. After about nine months of doing these routines about four times a week they haven't bored me just yet, as the way I do the exercises and my ability have changed so much. I just wish I had the opportunity and courage to attend an adult ballet class. :(

I really love these DVDs - they're beautifully produced to match the beauty, creativity and grace that IS ballet, and it's an excellent workout (if you commit to the movements, you will definitely feel it the next day!). I've had minimal prior ballet training and was able to follow the DVD instructions pretty well the first time through. I think people who have had zero prior experience with ballet terms and steps could get slightly frustrated at first, and it is true that there aren't cues for every single movement. BUT I think it would still be worth it if you think you'd enjoy acquiring the grace, strength and flexibility of ballet movements - you can always rewind and replay until you get something down.
The extra features are great, too, especially if you're already a ballet fan :)
