This is an absolutely beautiful movie about the birth of Jesus, whether you believe in Him or not. The characters of Mary and Joseph are wonderfully portrayed by Keisha Castle-Hughes and Oscar Isaacs. Wish there were something like this about Mohammed and Buddah.

Would you like to remember what Christmas is all about? Would you like to spend a couple of hours with your family watching a wonderful story unfold that is realistic and touching? Then watch this movie. The central characters are all well cast and the details are as accurate as can be expected in a Hollywood movie. The birth of Christ is touching and the best scene of the movie. It is the type of movie that you will watch every Christmas from here on in. Move over Miracle on 34th street, Its a wonderful life and Polar Express!

This movie is a must see for everybody. The actors who portray the characters do such a good job that you forget that it is a movie. You actually feel that you are right there experiencing the things they are.
This movie isn't just for Christmas but can and should be enjoyed year round.

I was awesomely surprised by this movie. As a catholic I have heard the nativity story told over and over since I was a child. It was always the same , Romantic, peaceful, glorious, ...but I never really connected with it on a spiritual level. This Movie opened my eyes to how it truely must have been for Mary and Joseph. It shows the real life stiuations that Mary had to face as a woman living in a small town, where getting pregnant outside of her marrige bed was cause to be stoned to death. When Joseph sees her pregnant for the fisrt time and believes that she has betrayed him, and how in a dream God tells him to take Mary as his Wife because she is the Mother of Our Lord and to name him Jesus! The Trip to Bethlehem, and how difficult that was for a women in her last months, and Josephs frantic search for a place so that Mary who is in labor , could deliver. The Morals that were set in that time, are still present in our society today, which really made this movie become real for me. I recommend this movie for anyone of any age. Best movie for the Christmas season, I was so inspired by it, I brought copies for all my friends and family as christmas gifts.
