I have been a Bond fanatic since seeing Dr. No in its original release at age 13. Of the first three Bond films, FRWL is my favorite and one of my top 5 Bond films. Connery is so self-assured in this film, just watch the way he saunters in after the attempted assasination of his friend Kerim Bey by a hidden bomb, he is just so cool. I love the attack on the gypsy camp sequence where, in the middle of the chaos taking place, Bond just walks through basically shooting everybody in sight or interfering in the violence in various ways. The older I get, the more I appreciate the beauty of Daniela Bianchi, for some reason, one of the lesser-remembered Bond women. I far prefer her to Ursula Andress. The fight scene between Connery and Robert Shaw on the Istanbul Express is the best and one of the most brutal in the series. And I never get tired of the helicoptor attack on Connery near the end of the film.
This film is an absolute classic and I look forward to getting it on blu-ray.

I have watched all the Bond Movies up to the QOS...This includes the non-Eon movies (Casino Royale 1967, Never Say Never Again) and From Russia with Love is the best! From the opening sequence Sean Connery provides a side of Bond that will never be matched. Daniela Bianchi is simply stunning in every scene she is in. Lotte Lenya plays a great villian as does Robert Shaw. The villians really make you believe that Bond could die. All Bond films try to make you think that Bond doesn't stand a chance, usually they fail. From Russia with Love builds the characters so greatly that you simply don't know until the end. Great Movie, Highly Recommeneded!

Any film which shows a quick walk-by a SPECTRE training facility is 5 stars in my book. There's even a quick glimpse of some SPECTRE trainees avoiding a flame thrower aimed at them as they run by. Arcane "Bond-World" details like this truly delight. Film is escapism. The more detailed the fantasy world presented (if we are buying into it, that is)...the greater the escape. A shallow approach elicts a shallow immersion/involvement.

Lots of intrigue and lots of action in this 007 spy-fi. Connery is a hit again as 007 the spy who's a hit with the ladies, and a pain in the neck to the bad guys. Look for Robert Shaw to be the menacing bad guy.
