Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Christmas morning
My son LOVES Bumblebee. He will be thrilled to pieces when he gets this under the tree. My husband and I both played with it a bit before it was wrapped. My son has the R2D2 robot released a few years back, and he still plays with that, so this will just add to his collection.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent
I thoroughly enjoyed the recent Transformers movie although I had never been a Transformers fan before. I fell in love with the new Bumblebee Camaro. Since the actual car was not available for purchase, the Ultimate Bumblebee Tranformers toy was the next best thing. I liked this toy so much that I ended up purchasing two of them. One is converted into the robot while the other is in the form of the Camaro. I'm an adult and I don't play with toys but this toy is just a joy to behold. It's so intricate and just fun to look at. The idea that this sturdy and complicated robot can be "transformed" into that car is simply amazing. I'm surprised everybody does not have the Ultimate Bumblebee on their Christmas lists!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Tough Bumble Bee
I bought this for my 5 yr old for his birthday. I spent 30 minutes for the first time trying to convert the robot into the car (I had the instruction manual, if you lose it...well...). It said on the outside that it will shoot the rockets on its own, it doesnt. It does detects surronding sounds, and would turn the head in that direction.
But somehow, my son lost interest in about an hour, and this $80.00 toy is sitting in the corner since then. Not very interactive, I would say more of a display thing.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - We think Bumblebee rocks!
I bought this toy for my son for his eighth birthday and fully expected it to be cool for a day or two and then end up forgotten at the bottom of his toy box after that. Considering the $[...] price tag, I am very pleased to report that he absolutely loves the toy and plays with it constantly. Considering it took us about thirty minutes to get it into car mode, and than maybe another 10 to get it back to robot, I think the toy is made pretty well. It looks to me like it will withstand a lot of everyday wear and tear from my son. We did have trouble with the arms, (locking them in place) at first, but my son has found that if you line them both up and then apply gentle but firm pressure on both arms at the same time, they lock right in and Bumblebee is ready to go. So he no longer requires my help with this (thankfully!)
Much better than the robosapien and robodog from a few birthdays back, I am very pleased with this toy and would totally recommend its purchase for your little autobot fans.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - parents beware
Parents be advised. I just got this thing today for my son's 7th birthday - he's a huge transformers fan and can transform any one he has quickly. He completely gave up in utter frustration - the booklet indicates something like 30 steps to go from robot to car mode - so it was daddy's turn to try - the thing just will NOT snap together perfectly - the arms, etc do not go into the car at all, let alone easily - roughly 2 hours later it was Mom'd turn because I was seriously stressed - she gave up after trying really really hard so it was DAddy's turn again - and then Mommy's - and then Daddy's until the whole day got away from us - all this while a 7 year old waited as patiently as he could for it to be a car. WE came SO CLOSE to getting it before we had to admit that ti just didn't snap together perfectly - not to mention that there was no way we were going to let him EVER put it in Robot mode again so what's the point?

Yes, it's really really cool and the lights, etc.. are bright and it never felt like we were in danger of breaking it during all of this so it gets high marks for it's durability but this one is going back - I told my son he could have as many other transformers as he wanted to make up fo the disappointment - and I got this one at a great price from Costco (
$70.00) I would have ben so much more pissed if I spent the hundred it was originally advertised at - expect this thing to bottom out in the 50 dolalr range as we get closer to Christmas. There will be A LOT of returns after the holidays.
