Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Another CGI infested, poorly written, super hero stink-fest!
When the screen isn't being filled with horrible CGI effects, the small amount of acting required is nothing short of awful. A twenty page comic book written over thirty years ago has more character depth! The "bad guys" look like something out of an episode of the TV series "Angel". Pathetic!

I've seen a lot of bad comic book adaptions in recent years, but this one pretty much takes the cake.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Extended Cut is HORRIBLE!
Disclaimer: This is a four star movie, and I'm not trying to tear it down; it's a fun film. But this special edition is Terrible!!! All the added scenes were cut for a reason. They range from unimportant to awful, and you don't have the option to watch the film without the extras. Here's an example for those of you who have seen the film, and are deciding which version to buy. When Johnny is about to jump the Blackhawks in the stadium, he flashes back to a conversation with his dad about a helicopter stunt. In the Extended Cut, they add a scene to the beginning of the film where this conversation takes place. These two scenes are only twenty minutes or so apart in the movie. It's unnecessary, and dumbs down the more important scene that was in the theatrical release.
All of the added scenes are like this. It actually ruins the movie.
Please, by all means, buy Ghost Rider. Just make sure you get the regular edition. I have to spend another $25+ to replace this movie, because I can't watch this cut again.
Spare yourself.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - I liked it
The special effects are really good in Blu-ray. We bought this so that we could get a free remote for our new PS3. Unfortunately Blu-ray provided a little too much definition to Nicolas Cage's toupee or weave or whatever he had on his head; enough so that it became distracting.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It was fantastic movie!!!
I didn't see the comic books but this movie was fantastic and exciting.
I enjoyed the movie at all.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Loved It
I was not at all familiar with these comic books, but I loved this movie. The flawed or anti-hero was nicely done. I like his softer side like drinking jelly beans from martini glasses, and his likeable Elvis quality. The retro music (Carpenters) was also good.

I think this was one of Nicolas Cage's best performances. Peter Fonda was also good; I've never seen him in a role like this, well done. Eva Mendes' character was a nice blend of sweet and cynical. And I don't want to give too much away but I loved the second Ghost Rider--that was so cool!

The creators and writers did a good job of taking a well-used theme (a bargain with the devil) and making an original story out of it. I also thought the Texas setting was fairly well done. I lived in Texas several years growing up. Excluding the fake bluebonnets at end (they grow much differently than that) the setting was done well, but not overdone. I still have many Texas acquaintances and know that they are not hicks or overly-countrified like many movies tend to portray. And since very few Texans live on ranches or wear jangling spurs, they did a good job in this movie of making that state seem more normal.

This is just one of the best movies I have seen in years. It was just the right length, with just the right amount of action, human interest, superhero, humor, etc. I thought it was great. And this is coming from someone who doesn't particularly like motorcycles, or helicopters, or many of the other focuses of the film. It thought it was just plain fun, and I really enjoyed it.
