Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Special Effects are great. Movie okay.
They skip so much that you wonder what's going on sometimes. Has good story line, but could have been much better. Nicholas Cage seems a little old for this part.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - They should PAY YOU to watch this movie - it's terrible.
What on earth!?

This movie was terrible. If cliches could kill, this movie would bring about the end of humankind. It was entertaining in the fact that it was funny when it didn't mean to be.

Poorly written script.
Terrible acting.
Pretty good special effects.
Creative (in a freaky, bizarre, shouldn't-have-done-that sort of way).

They should pay Nicolas Cage millions to NOT act.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Dull and poorly written
Nicholas Cage plays a motorcycle stunt rider named Johnny Blaze, who as a teenager makes a deal with the Devil to save his father's life. In the ensuing years he does more and more dangerous stunts because he knows he can't die. One day the Devil comes back to collect on the deal, forcing Cage to become the Ghost Rider, collecting the souls of evil men. The Devil's son Blackheart also shows up, opposing his father, catching Ghost Rider in the middle of the fight. Sam Elliott plays a previous Ghost Rider from a century and a half ago who helps Cage understand what is going on.

The plot was promising but Ghost Rider bored me. The performances were all right but the script wasn't very well written and the entire story failed to grab me. The effects were the real star of the movie and that's a problem. The effects were cool most of the time but they can't make up for the movies' flaws, the biggest of which was they didn't make me care about the characters and what happened to them.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - great blending of different versions
I became a fan of the early 90's variation of the ghost rider. I also became familiar with Johnny Blaze from the story lines where the 90's ghost rider and Blaze shared a title together.

This movie takes the older Johnny Blaze ghost rider and blends it with the spirit of vengence ghost rider of the 90's. A bit of creative liscense, sure, but it made for a really cool take on the character. The acting was not as bad as some of the other posters would have you believe. But do not buy this movie believing it to be a character driven drama that was meant to impress film critics. This is an action movie. It is a special effects extravaganza. The effects deliver! Is there cheeze? Of course, namely the "Yahoo" when ghost rider lassos the helicopter. We could've done without that little bit. But on the whole, a good flick. I would say a little better than Electra, not as good as the X-Men, Spiderman movies or Daredevil.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Smoking!
A better film is produced out of the extended edition of Mark Steven Johnson's Ghost Rider. More character development is the key gain that the fans recieve. If there's any comic-book character whose terrible temper is more feared than that of the Hulk, it's Ghost Rider's. Nicholas Cage turns in a good performance as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider, as does the rest of the cast, especially the villains, played by Peter Fonda and Wes Bentley, and Johnny's former flame, Roxanne Simpson, played by Eva Mendes. I expect a similar triumph out of next year's Iron Man.
