 Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Off-the-Wall Comedy
Bubba Ho-Tep tells the story of a retirement home where the people are slightly odd. The main character claims he is really Elvis. Another person - a black man - believes he is really JFK. This odd duo encounters an old Mummy that has somehow come to the current time to kill everyone in it's path. Bruce Campbell, famous for his roles in the "Evil Dead" franchise, does a great job as Elvis. This movie is overly hilarious and a little bit odd. The bonus features are very very good, Bruce Campbell does 2 commentary tracks, one playing the role of "Elvis," the other as Bruce Campbell himself. These commentary tracks provide a great amount of information the production of the movie and although I'm not a huge fan of commentary tracks I love the ones on this DVD. Overall, if you're a fan of Bruce Campbell you should check this out.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great package
This package has the same DVD as in the limited collector's edition (One Disc, plenty of special features) The only difference is that it does not contain the small book inside and there is no slipcase but it has the new Elvis jacket slipcase.
A must have for any fan of this movie. 5/5

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Neglected Classic
This movie, based on a Joe R. Landsdale short story, is probably as good as independent movie making gets. A geriatric Elvis and a black John F. Kennedy in a West Texas nursing home being victimized by a Mummy that comes out of the swamp at night and sucks the soul out of the old folks! How can you pass that up? Bruce Campbell should have been nominated for an Oscar for his performance as an aging and crippled Elvis. Ossie Davis plays JFK with half his brain replaced with sand by the CIA after the Dallas shooting. At one point Elvis criticizes a plan to kill the Mummy. JFK replies, "Give me a break. I'm working with sand here." Ella Joyce turns in a wonderful performance as the nurse who manages to `turn on' the King.

While on the surface this is a funny put-on of horror flicks, it has other layers. The treatment of the elderly is one that comes to mind. The reason the Mummy can carry on his depredations is that no-one really cares about these people. Another level is the chance to make one last grand gesture in your life, no matter what the conditions.

You really need to see this movie. I have loaned my copy out lots of times and I often get questioning looks. But if you get it, you get it. If not, no explanation will ever do.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Unique out look on Elvis
I really like this movie due to the fact that it took a unique take on the life of both Elvis & JFK - why not - you have to ask yourself - maybe Elvis did pull a switch on the world- The movie had some really good one liners as well- the plot is simple & it works - would recommend this movie to all my friends :) Plus Bruce Campbell ROCKS

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Do I Like This or Hate It?
I'm a Bruce Campbell fan - even in his cameos in the Spiderman series.

Now this film? I have no idea if I liked it or hated it. I watched the whole thing and at times I thought that it was funny. It is not the least scary but I don't know if it intended to be scary. Campbell and Davis give excellent performances.

Heck, I don't know so I gave it three stars for my own indecision.
