"Yes; PLEASE take me to the fair, once again. After all, it is not enough for me to just rent this DVD from a local store. I would love to have the opportunity to actually own this movie, for myself. This is, without a doubt, one of Elvis Presley's finest film achievements. His co-stars include Gary Lockwood (of future "2001: A Space Odyssey" fame), Vicki Tiu (the future First Lady of Hawaii), and Kurt Russell (yes- the very same Kurt Russell, who is a major star today). The songs are well integrated within the context of the story. And, the scenery- wow! The Monorail and the Space Needle really stand out. Plus, this film includes one of my favorite Elvis movie songs; the longer version of "One Broken Heart For Sale". I certainly do miss being able to actually have the chance to own my very own copy of this movie on DVD. Hopefully, it will get reissued again, soon. Thank you, very much!

After viewing this movie and a co-feature called "Girls! Girls! Girls!" in a double-feature recently, I am convinced that Elvis Presley was the greatest film actor of all time. I may only be 12, but I know a great movie star when I see one. Together, these two movies provided an extraordinary evening for me, especially when they were shown together on the same billing. I really enjoyed the songs; especially "One Broken Heart For Sale", and "Return To Sender". Thank you, Elvis!

It is slightly known in Hawaii and even less elsewhere, that the child star in It Happened At The World's Fair is the wife of the present governor of Hawaii. (August 2002).
Vicky Tiu became Vicky Cayetano a few years ago by marrying Governor Ben Cayetano. Her sister Ginny Tiu was actually better known, as a child pianist. Ginny still performs off and on at a hotel in Waikiki. Ginny co-starred with Elvis in Girls! Girls! Girls!, also set in Hawaii. Ginny was to be in World's Fair too, but she could not make it so Vicky was put in her place.
I find World's Fair more enjoyable: a more attention-getting plot overall. Can't wait for both films to come out on DVD, of course in widescreen with extra features.

I'm only 25 but I remember my father showing me this movie. I loved it from the start, it really is one of his best movies. I enjoyed it then and still do today. It's timeless. Unfortunatly, it's not available anymore to buy new so if you want it - it will cost you, but it's a good one to own and will only continue to be worth more and more. Another one of his greatest movies is Jail House Rock. You should definitly check it out.
