In Evan Almighty, God chooses a newly-elected congressman to build an arc in anticipation of another flood and reminiscent of Noah's feat.
The acting is pretty good, the plot is just average, while the humor is decent.
In a nutshell, it's probably not a movie you would want to add to your collection, but it might provide for an evening's entertainment, and that's about it.
No masterpiece here...

This DVD movie is simply heartwarming! It is such a breath of fresh air over the many other DVD's out there. Incredibly funny, a barrel of laughs. I would recomend this movie to anybody to own. We need more movies like this one! Evan Almighty (Widescreen Edition)

This was a cute movie. It wasn't very funny (to me) but still amusing all the same. I would categorize this as more of a family film than a comedy. I liked the message, which wasn't overly biblical. The movie is also packed with important morals:
-support and love each other as a family should
-show kindness and respect to all creatures and their habitats
I would give this movie as a gift and recommend it to anyone I know.

We liked it. It's not anything more than a simple comedy with a simple theme. We laughed and enjoyed the entertainment.

Evan Almighty starring Steve Carell is quite touching and funny. Carell turns another impressive performance and Lauren Graham isn't too shabby as well, considering I couldn't stand her character on Gilmore Girls! Morgan Freeman reprises his role as God, this film is much better than Bruce Almighty. This film actually has a story to it rather than Bruce. Evan Almighty is an entertaining take on Noah's Ark. The computer animation is a bit of a let down but this is a great family film.
