For starters, I'm a lover of historical documentaries and a bit of a WW2 buff. This is the second title I've bought by PDQ filmworks and both have been awesome. This documentary is the original film designed to be seen by american soldiers during the war as part motivational to inspire a desire to fight and know what you're fighting for as well as part propoganda. The bias in this film by the military is obvious, but the rich collection of period photos and "boots on the ground" viewpoint footage is a great insight into one of the most unstable and influential times of the past century.
Much of this footage is available to the general public under the same name, but the great thing about this title is the digital reamastering of the media. The audio quality is fully audible and the translation into dvd format is very smooth. I found the DVD breakdown by major events and battles a good viewing length. Reminds me of watching 1hr episodes through a mini-series. Highly recommend.
