Every CSI season, has it's best episodes & this season is no exception. In addiction, to the Miniature Murders, this season also offered, something special for my fellow, Joe Penny fans. Mr. Penny, is best known for his roles, has Nick Ryder, of Riptide, Jake Styles of Jake & the Fatman & now Frank Darnell of Hallmark's Jane Doe Series.
Giving an amazing performance, Mr. Penny, appeared has Jack Oakley in the episode: The Good, The Bad & The Dominatrix, opposite Melinda Clarke's, Lady Heather. In want was rummored to be this character's last appearance.
But, can you really, let go of such, a dynamite charactor? Who looks, so seductively, beautiful in black?
All in all, this dvd set, is a must have for any CSI & Joe Penny fan. You will not be disappointed. This I promise you.

This is my favorite season of CSI because of two great story lines. The first one involves the team's hunt for the elusive Miniature Killer, which ends in a truly gripping and haunting climax. The second one involves the introduction of a new CSI, Michael Keppler (played by Liev Schreiber). The Keppler story line has a great film noir feel that will delight fans of crime fiction.

I was so excited when the Seventh Season of CSI came out. I purchase it every year and usually watch it within a few weeks. Season six was so excellent that I could hardly wait for season seven to be released. Although this season did get off to somewhat of a slow start (with just a little too much drama on the parts of the main characters and not enough emphasis on the science or crime-solving), this season was executed quite well. The writing and acting was spot-on, as always, except for a few minor annoyances dealing with implausible plotlines ("Redrum") and some utterly forgettable episodes ("Sweet Jane"). Additionaly, I found that the "quips" (the one-liners spoken right before the opening credits roll) are not quite as clever as years past. Where I usually laugh out loud I found myself rolling my eyes. This is a rather minor annoyance, though, so I'm not too concerned about it. As far as content is concerned, I give this season a 4.5 of 5 stars.
My biggest problem, however, was with the quality of the video. Usually the video quality is stunning and the discs are authored very well, but this season I felt that the video was a little off. The colors did not pop as much as I would expect and the footage felt a bit soft for me. I have several upconverting DVD players as well as a progressive scan DVD player, and they all showed "jaggies," or de-interlacing artifacts. I'm not sure whether the content on these discs is authored in progressive or interlaced, but there was something wrong with the footage. Of course I wouldn't expect this to be a problem for everyone - I have a top-of-the-line upcoverting DVD player that is outputting 1080p to a 104" diagonal image, so it is fairly easy to see every little defect in the source. What is odd to me is that there are some scenes where I would expect de-interlacing artifacts (i.e. very tight diagonal lines throughout the scene) that are displayed perfectly smoothly. If you have a basic setup with just a standard DVD player and a standard definition television, I'm sure it looks great. This really only applies to those who are watching these DVDs on an HDTV. As far as the video quality is concerned, I give this release a 2.5 of 5 stars.
Unfortunately, it can be quite distracting when you see problems with the quality that could lead to visual defects, and that's what happened here. I was extremely let down in the video quality arena, especially with the new HD media formats (this is an excellent candidate for HD DVD or Blu-Ray - I'm surprised CBS and Paramount haven't decided to give this show a new HD treatment). Last year's CSI: NY Season Two had some of the best video quality I have seen on a standard DVD, and was hoping for more of the same this year. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

In its seventh season, CSI is as strong in it's story-telling, as it was
in its first season. The stories were original and kept the viewer
interested. The miniature-killer storyline was an especiall good nail-
biter. CSI seems to have kept its high standards, unlike other shows
that slowly die out.

I purchased this item in early December for Christmas. It qualified for the Super Free Shipping deal they were running at the time. It took over three weeks for this item to be shipped. I didn't receive it until Christmas Eve. I will NEVER use Amazon again unless they improve their so called FREE SHIPPING Offers. It was not worth the headache or anxiety that it caused.
