Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - First time I bought a LEGO set for the alternate model
It's LEGO, so nothing can go wrong. Having said that, I am not a big fan of the dirt bike and bought this set for the alternate model, namely the chopper motorcycle. This set retails for [...], so buy from a physical store if Amazon's third party vendors charge more....

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I Am One Cool Aunt!
My nephew loves dirt bikes, so how cool is the fact that I found his favorite thing in an educational toy!
He is sure to love it for his birthday.
Amazon has it all and so convenient!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the best Technic sets ever.
What a bargain this set is! A mere $25 and it is very fun to build and play with. It is very dense with detail and mechanical features like an articulated 2 cylinder engine with pistons, crankshaft, and even a perfunctory "gearbox" although the gears cannot be changed. The chain drive is a beautiful and conspicuous detail, as are the front and rear suspensions but I think the feature that most delighted me is the exhaust. It runs from the engine through to the tailpipe in a very cleverly designed manner. As is often the case with lego sets, there are instructions included for a secondary model, in this instance a chopper. I haven't had a chance to build that yet though as the dirt bike is so cool. Also significant is the use of the Technic "panels" which with their ambiguous abstract shapes often look tacked on as afterthoughts in other sets. Their use here fits perfectly and defines the volume of the fuel tank which helps obviate the usual skeletal look of Technic. I guess a dirt bike is already skeletal! The educational value of the set is high with the authentic engine construction and clever details such as a working kickstand and all the other details mentioned above.
