Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Smallville seventh season an excellent buy
We have all the Smallville series. My daughter loves the series and it is as compelling to watch in the seventh season, as it was in the first series. As the series has developed they have become better. Roll-on eight :)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Despite the writers strike still a great season
Though hampered by the writer's strike, and the fact that many of our favorite character's contracts expired, I wanted to list some of the things I liked about season 7 and think it was almost as good as the amazing seasons 5/6 (caution of minor spoilers):

Millar Gough Ink still involved and true to form

Lana and Clark finally living together and the complications

Lex's buried good side briefly resurfaces.

Lana's dark side surfaces

The whole Lana, Lex, Lionel dynamic-great actors!

Lana Chloe and Clark working together

The addition of Kara and some cool Krypton background

Continued excellent music far beyond the usual tv series

Lex finally finding out Clark's secret, much like Lana finding it out at the end of season 6, was a strong moment.

I think a lot of negative reviews might stem from the fact that people know it will never be as good again with the strongest protagonists all leaving the show at the end of season 7

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Smallville Season 7
It's amazing how each season, the show gets better and better. The addition of Kara, Clark's cousin from Krypton lends a rich complexity to the show. The on-off relationship of Clark with Lana and Lana's deviousness regarding his vengence towards Lex keeps us constantly wondering what will happen next. Bizarro, the form taken by the phantom by using some of Clark's DNA and his relationship with Lana and then Clark's realization that Bizarro slept with Lana during his absence in the fortress for a month really stirs up some emotions for the couple. Lex is up to his usual evil schemes for power but Clark continues to try to see the good in Lex. I love this series and anyone who has gotten hooked from the first season will love this season also.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Supergirl Soars, Superman Lands with a small Thud!
Smallville is quite possibly one of the best shows on TV, the special effects alone almost always rival those of other shows with higher budgets. It's amazing how, with little to no promotion, Smallville has managed to stay on the airwaves for 8 seasons. I think that's a testament to the subject matter. This story about a SUPERMAN in training may have fun toying around with the mythology, but at the end of the day it's still all about Clark Kent's journey to become the most famous superheroe in the world. The seventh season picks up exactly where the sixth left off, quickly informing us about what happened with Lex, Clark, and his evil twin Bizzaro! They were all in danger of certain death after Reeves Dam collapsed, did they survive? When Lana's car exploded, did she manage to get out in time? Will Lois Lane manage to return the favor and save her cousin Chloe's life? Along with answering all these questions we are also introduced to a mysterious blonde who can fly. Who is she? Is she evil or some kind of Super girl? New mysteries are introduced as we learn about a secret organization named Veritas in search of "the traveler." What are their motives, and how will they affect Clark's life?

As you may already know, last year's writer's strike forced the writers to tweak and alter story lines in order to speed some things up and others were simply slowed down. This causes some of the episodes to feel rushed or sometimes even a little incomplete. However, it's great to witness Clark inch closer to his destiny and his nemesis, Lex, cross the line into iniquity. Many people disliked the introduction of Clark's kryptonian cousin, but I personally didn't mind. I understand wny many fans felt that she made Clark look weak, but I don't feel it was Laura Vandervoort's fault, I just think the writers did what the producers asked and unfortunately the character of Clark suffered due to it. I feel Laura's work was very understated and also underappreciated. She did a splendid job and I hope to see more of her in the future. Alison Mack is great as Chloe, Tom Welling is capable as Clark, although sometimes I wish he'd give us more. Kristin Kreuk is great as Lana, and a lovely young woman who has also blossomed the most as an actress, however, I have to say that they've been dragging the Clark & Lana storyline way past it's expiration date. Luckily, the last few episodes make sure that their dynamic changes, and we the viewer, know that there are better storylines to come.
For those of you who aren't fans and have no idea what I'm talking about, let me just say that this show is action-packed, it's like watching a mini-movie every episode and I hope you're not turned off just because it's sci-fi. It's really well executed and will make a fan out of you.
