Great performance by Clooney, as always. The plot is so convoluted and far fetched that its hard to keep score till nearly the end of the movie.
It ultimately makes sense, but be ready to concentrate before you start to watch this movie.

An evenly paced thriller, and not so much about the corporation against the little guy as you might read in other reviews. Although that was the underlying premise and the envelope within which the story unfolds. It's more about Michael Clayton though than anything else; his morality, his passion, and his ability to cope while dealing with personal events. Mr. Clooney gives a superb performance, possibly his careers best. I'm never happy with getting to a point in the film where it then indicates going pack 4 days to understand how we got to where we are, and perhaps I'm confusing the issue, however, it all comes together and it works. All the characters have substance and are well developed - good acting all around, and the ending ties everything up neatly. I liked it.

The deleted scenes, with and without commentary, and the commentary track for the main film are both very enlightening and very fun to watch. I'm a big fan of the movie and I think listening to the directors describe the huge amount of work that went into these shots adds a new level of appreciation of the movie.
Several of the deleted scenes are critical details of the plot, and really help to flesh out the main characters.

Such great acting in this suspense drama by all parties. Could have used a little more interaction between the three brothers to clarify, perhaps. This is the finest acting I have seen from George Clooney. Very good, indeed. All 'round.

I'll admit that it's tough for me to give anything five stars, because it's the near-equivalent of saying something is perfect. Well, "Michael Clayton" is a thoroughly enjoyable piece of cinema. The movie is well-cast, particulary with regard to Clooney, Wilkinson, Swinton and Pollack. It's even nice to see Danny Noonan from "Caddyshack" back in action.
If you're looking for some sort of high-action shoot-'em-up full of pursuits, stunts and explosions, please look elsewhere.
