Bella, is story driven, with refrained camera work, and a finite number of lenses, but beautiful nonetheless. This work of passion defines the limits of human emotion and Thankfully does not hurtle you into a morose pit filled with shadowy characters with bleeding hearts. Its lead man goes from clean shaven, Miami Vice sheak, to a musculan shaggy handsomeness representing what lies within himself; as Cinema is a countdown of visual images there is hardly any other way to represent the flesh of our souls than to drab a once healthy, beautiful homosapien into a homeless sacrifice of youth. Bella is filled with mournful, reflecting, and sometimes acting which lends itself to an eye searching for lessons. I give Bella a strong recommendation, one that is easily found at your local Video club.

Bella is the best film produced since the Passion of Christ. Bella so beautifully shows the tremendous power of love and warmth of the family. Art should inspire the best in the human spirit and Bella does. Congratulations to everyone involved in the creation of this heart warming film. Please produce more.

This was one of the best movies I have seen in along time. Very moving!!!! I thought that the writing was excellant in telling the story and the directing was superb!!! You really were able to emotionally connect with the characters!!!!

This movie had a great idea but putting into film was obviously too hard. The story leaves something to be desired! It is pieced together and leaves you to finish the story for yourself.

This is not the typical Hollywood production. The cinematography reminds me more of Spanish, French, or Latin American productions, and so the film has a slightly foreign feel to it that might take some adjusting. In addition, at times the acting -- though not Verástegui's -- seems a little forced and amateurish. But the adjustments are well worth the effort and the overacting is more than readily compensated by a beautiful storyline of redemption, a theme not frequently addressed in contemporary film. This is a beautiful film about the power of family to heal the deep wounds of life, and about the peace that comes from reaching beyond oneself so as to do the selfless thing just because it is the right thing to do. The story is set in New York City and Long Island; so expats like myself will groove on the beautiful shots of the beaches, the rides on the LIRR, and Manhattan; I could smell the ocean and the kitchens -- home and restaurant -- through the screen! I think everyone will be taken by the nobility of ordinary life when it is allowed to overcome and to forgive the grasping, striving selfishness that can characterize so much of human behavior.
The storyline will touch your heart and fill your soul with a quiet kind of peace and hope.
