It's cheap, overdue, but casper is back and Verhoven is as sharp as ever with satire. If I had 200 million euros I could do a bang-up job on special effects. These guys probably had 2 mill. for the whole budget. I WANT MORE STARSHIP TROOPERS!

Don't get me wrong, i love the series but when you put the elements of RELIGION & God into an outer space flick, it's just gone to far. The acting is ok, Casper does a great job as usual in all his films, bugs ok, action ok but the script was terrible!! This by far is one of the worst scripts written for the sci-fi genera. This is not good camp but bad camp, annoying camp, it's just like a bad comic purposely looking for a laugh & all he hears is silence, gone 2 far. I was actually annoyed by the prayers, church songs & other gospel elements including the supposedly hip song the psychic was singing, keep the gospel elements out of sci fi, it just did not fit within the movie. If you want to get technical about the religion to see where it fits in this movie, it is said that, God created the Earth, the Heavens & the Universe so he must have created the bugs as well & they are destroying his people, why are they praying & praising him for such a plague?? I thought L. Ron Hubbard was dead. This trash would receive zero stars if permitted, i sadly have to say that this DVD went straight into my trash can, what a big let down for the series. I will NEVER watch it again nor will i recommend it to anyone, this movie should have never been made & why was it not shelved or the script re-written. This is an unabashedly right wing propaganda film, Joseph Goebbels would have been proud of this one. There are no subtleties here. It's in your face demonizing war protestors and executing them (a right wing wet dream). But wait, there's more. Just when you think the movie had thrown in all the Right-Wing talking points. It poured in the religious stuff. You feel yourself gasping for unadulterated fresh clean air after being saturated in this muck.

This movie sucked so bad that I turned it off with in 5 minutes of starting it. IT WAS A DISGRACE!

By my calculations, Heinlein, in his grave, is spinning at about 12,000 RPM. This monsterous piece of filth was supposed to be derived from his book - "Starship Troopers", but had the worst of the unfit in leadership positions, rather that the best of the best, as in the book. Kind of like the system we have.
I watched hoping to see a good-hearted old friend, but instead saw a child-molesting politician. The people that wrote the script should be fed to hogs, alive.
