i thought that it might not be as good as the first but maybe better than the second. and this movie blew me away. i have watched it everyday since i got it. now that sounds like a lot and your right. i am a trucker and i put it on my computer so every time i stop to sleep i watch it. so if that's any idea of what you wanted to know you just got it. i do suggest getting it.

Okay, Starship Troopers 2 didn't follow the mold created by #1, but it was watchable. Marauder is only worth watching to have said you've seen it. It is totally humorless, the nudity is not believable, entirely gratuitous, except to give it an R rating, and badly done. Worst, it doesn't include Ms. Blalock. In Marauder, the Marauders are shown almost as an afterthought, and are not particularly well done. The giant brain bug is shown as occupying a portion of the planet, but is utterly unconvincing. The role of religion is taken seriously and even respected. Yes, maybe the bugs do deserve to win... The coup de graceless was having the destruction of the planet blocked by the unlikely wedding embrace. No, this movie, while truer to #1 in action, was worse than Hero of the Federation. This is strictly a rent and return; don't waste your money unless you can spare it.

better than the 2nd, worse than the 1st. its somewhere in between. very poor acting but i had some fun watching it (with a couple of beers of course). the computer effects range between ok and "you can't be serious!". some good gore effects but don't expect the same gore level you had in the first one.
the blu ray picture and sound quality is superiour. so if you are a fan this is worth a look.

Starship Troopers 3 had very disappointing special effects that appeared to be made using game quality computer graphics. This film must have been shot with the same budget for the entire production as was dedicated to each individual scene of the original very excellent film.
The screen graphics of the original were superb and contained all the subtle information we have grown to expect in state of the art computer graphics including: geometric detail and convincing movements, good use of perspective, realistic material texturing, and excellent light and shadow effects. All this made the CGI look very credible.
The graphics used in #3 looked like a good quality video game. This approach probably saved the production company a fortune as gaming graphics are known to look "OK" and save scads of time and expense, but fall far short of what we expect from our film makers today.
Be careful for what you wish for as you may get it appears to apply to Starship Troopers #3. I don't think there will be a Starship Troopers 4, but if they do decide to make the film I suggest a bit more time, money and bring back the original Johnny Rico as the film depends on his presence.

I almost did not buy this movie due to the reviews that I read on Amazon. However I did and was very happy with the movie. It is as good as the first movie and much better than the second one. The other reviewers were all wet, the special effects were fine, the acting was good and everything else was fine. I read the book and it was as true to it as the first movie. Buy the movie, it is a good one to own.
